Jessie and Brie from the Jitterbugs have created 'The Ocean Bloom Project' and will be exhibiting at the Australian Dive Expo 2-6th August!

This exciting new project will be taken around to children and their communities to get them excited about the ocean. The ocean is an essential part of an incredible beaming life. We want to nourish the natural excitement that children have for the sea and help them to surface, explore and celebrate it.

We will be teaching the kids through the creative arts using live music and song, art, dance, film and interactive education on the ocean environment and will be focusing on the plastic pollution problem as well as shark and ocean conservation.

Jes and I are both divers and have an immense passion for the sea. We wish to be another pair of hands capturing the spirit and excitement of the ocean, encouraging fun, creativity and spiritedness in children to protect what they love and appreciate.

On our trip to Honiara, Solomon Islands with The Jitterbugs to perform for their annual event ‘Carols in the Islands 2017’, we were asked by Dive Munda if we would return to teach the kids of village schools and communities about the ocean life and environment and ways to conserve it.

We’re teaming up with an awesome underwater filmmaker Jordan Del. He’ll be documenting the trip and will constitute a massive part of the project because through film, kids will become aware of exactly what is going on around them underwater so we are going to get him to film the underwater sea environment around Munda and show that to the kids.

Visit our exhibit at the Australian International Dive Expo at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour to learn more about this project. We will have engaging activities for the children and lots of excitement and information about the oceans! There will also be a raffle with amazing prizes that have been donated to help raise funds for our team's trip to the village schools and communities in the Solomon Islands
